Psychological aspects of children in foster care

The topic addressed in this work is psychological aspects of the substitute family care. The aim of this work is to define the psychological aspects of children in foster care, the effects of adoption and foster care on children as well as on their foster parents. The work describes the basic differences between adoption and foster care. It deals with the motivation of applicants for the substitute family care and the difference in the positions of adopter and foster parent. The psychological needs of the child and the possible effects of mental distress, such as deprivation, are being described. Another aspect is the emotional attachment and its possible disorders and remedies. The work points out behavioral disorders, such as prominence in behavior, which those interested in NRP may encounter with in children, and the possibilities of working with these disorders. The work also points out the adaptation of the child in a foster family, which is influenced by the past experience. The work includes the topic of the child's past and the importance of working with it, as an important aspect for building the child's identity.
Alternative family care in Czech Republic and possibilities of psychologist's involvement in this field

The diploma thesis is concerned about the theme of alternative family care in Czech republic, it is focused on psychologist's involvement in this field. It report summary of informations about menaced and abandoned children, about types of alternative family care, about profession of psychologist, who is concerned this theme and about failings in contemporary system. Empiri- cal part of the diploma thesis bring enrichment of opinions and point of view of experts working in this field, describe profession of psychologist, garner observations of experts to problems, which they see from their experience in alternative family care and bring suggestions for solu- tion. The diploma thesis give informations about possibilities in education of psychologist and organization's service for alternative and biological families. This diploma thesis is intented for psychologist, as well as for all the experts who wants to work in this field.
Relatives foster care from the point of view of social and legal protection workers of children and foster parents

The topic of the diploma thesis is the issue of foster care performed by the relatives of the child from the point of view of social and legal protection workers of children (OSPOD) and foster parents on the basis of the theory of line workers. The work deals with the confrontation of kinship and professional (mediated by the state) foster care, their positives and negatives, both from the perspective of OSPOD professionals who perform this activity directly and from the perspective of foster parents who are related to children and professional foster parents. The aim of the diploma thesis is to find out whether there is a different approach to kinship and professional foster care both in terms of legal grounding and in terms of the practical side of this institute. The work focuses on finding out the needs of foster parents in the performance of foster care and also the needs of workers involved in the implementation of foster care, both in terms of assessing foster care tools, entrusting the child to foster care, implementation of foster care and eventual termination of this care and their possible differences in professional and family care. Children's way to Children's Home

The bachelor thesis deals with the causes of placing children in children´s homes and their stays. The theoretical part focuses on describing the family, it characterizes the system of substitute and institutional care, possible causes of placing children into Children´s homes and introduces the Radenín Children´s Home in detail. The aim of my bachelor thesis is to find out the causes of placing children into the Radenín Children´s Home, based on the children´s case studies. To fulfill this aim, a qualitative survey via case studies was used, subsequently evaluating them using the open encoding method. The research further points to factors that have contributed to taking children away from their families and placing them into the Radenín Children´s Home.
Foster care for temporary period

Intention of this bachelor thesis is to raise awareness of short term foster care in the Czech Republic, particularly by looking in to the structure of its system. As the title states, aim of the thesis is to study and record the entire course of short term foster care process, that starts when a child comes into a foster family and ends when the child is taken by adoptive or biological family. The research survey is mainly focused on the process when a child is coming to a foster family: on building relationships between a child and a family, mutual visits of two concerned families (their duration and form), creating emotional ties and child's psychological adaptation to ongoing changes and new conditions. In the survey, semi-structured interviews with foster parents are used. Gathered information were transformed into case studies, each of these cases was analyzed and evaluated separately.
Cooperation with parents of child placed in facility for children requiring immediate assistance

The bachelor thesis deals with the problem of cooperation of the biological parents of children who are placed in facility for children requiring immediate assistance. The goal of my work is to approach this collaboration, its possible forms, possibilities and risks, which the cooperation brings. To fulfill objectives in the bachelor thesis will be used case studies from facility for children requiring immediate assistance SOS Sluníčko Carlsbad.
Education of Children from Foster Care

The thesis "Education of Children from Foster Care" summarizes with possibilities of educating children from the foster care. The theoretical part addresses in the first chapter about alternative educational care, I mention that it includes (foster care, foster care and school, diagnostic institute and educational institute). Other part of the theoretical part consists of legislation and education of children from foster care, this chapter contains all the possible factors that can influence education (biological family, personality of educator, motivation for school work, the values of children). The last part deals with programs that support children from foster in the education and they preparing for a future career. This work is based on interviews with twenty respondents, which forms the practical part of the thesis. The research method was a structured interview, the results are processed in a qualitative manner. Investigated group consists of ten women and ten men. The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the educational process of children who living in a foster care and a measure of its success. Right to know the genetic origin

The question to be considered is whether the issue of genetic origin is still present nowadays. I think so, because today, in comparison to the past, there are more children who grow up in single-parent families. In addition there is a significant number of children who are abandoned by their parents and there is also the area of assisted reproduction to be considered which cannot be ignored. These offer possibilities that the previous generations never dreamed of. It is true that nowadays incomplete families no longer mean stigmatization but the awareness of origin for each of us still remains very important. The complete family is not only formally but also an effectively functioning family consisting of the mother, the father and their children, creating the foundation of society. Even though the children have formally both parents, it is also important to know their biological parents in case of that they are not the same as the people who actually take care of them. This comes to the fore especially in connection with the issue of adoption when the bonds of a child with his biological family are replaced with those of "new" parents.
